Jess Iszatt

Jess Iszatt is the presenter and producer of the BBC Music Introducing showevery Saturday night 8pm-10pm for BBC Radio London, showcasing the best undiscovered and under the radar musicians from the region. In 2021 she became part of the Radio 1 Relax presenting team, Radio 1’s new sister station, helping listeners tune out of their hectic lives and unwind to chilled out beats. She often covers for BBC Radio 1 shows including Jack Saunders Future Artists Show, the Chillest Show and Early Breakfast. Jess has also covered the BBC Introducing Mixtape with Tom Robinson (BBC 6 Music) and has featured on Jamz Supernova’s Tuesday night specialist show (BBC Radio 1Xtra) and Radio 1’s Introducing show. She won silver for Best New Talent at the Frank Gillard Awards 2021, for local BBC Radio. 

Alongside her work for the BBC she also hosts the 4-8pm weekday show on Magic Chilled, playing fresh, laid-back hits from the 90’s, 00’s and present. 

She prides herself as a tastemaker at the forefront of the new music scene in the UK, and has strong links with AIM (the Association of Independent Music), presenting for their annual awards 3 years running. 

Jess has presented for The Hook, one of the largest media groups online for entertainment, viral videos and news, interviewing Hollywood stars such as James Franco, Scarlett Johansson, Queen Latifah and Jada Pinkett SmithShe currently hosts The Record Club on Facebook where she’s interviewed the likes of Groove Armada, Paloma Faith, James Blunt, Tom Grennan, Rudimental, Wolf Alice and many more.  In 2021, she fronted the official coverage for Reading Festival’s Youtube and social channels.

She has had successful commercial collaborations with various brands including Pioneer DJ, BrewDog and Ellesse / JD Sports.   

Relishing her passion for live music, Jess often DJs at gigs, festivals and sports events including Secret Garden Party, London Spirit- The Hundred, Women’s England Rugby Internationals and is due to DJ at Snowbombing Festival 2022. 

She regularly hosts the short film night: Shorts on Tap, supporting emerging London film makers. Jess also plays hockey competitively for Broxbourne hockey club. 

She graduated with a 2:1 BA Honours degree in Psychology, Sociology & Media and Communications from the University of Newcastle, and has previously worked at BBC Three Counties Radio, BBC Essex, MEATtransMISSION radio, Rinse FM, Capital North East, ITV Tyne Tees and Spark FM. 

Jess is an ambassador of the Neko Trust music charity.
