Born in the Valleys of South Wales, Katie Owen moved to London in late 2018 to pursue her love of music and dreams of becoming a DJ and Presenter.
Since then she has become a favourite with notable brands DJing for Fred Perry, Dr Martens, Pretty Green, Hard Rock Cafe, Olay Skincare, Loreal and launching a successful modelling career. She was seen across the country as the face of Scotts Menswear summer campaign 2019.
Katie landed the spot as tour DJ for Kasabian on their 2021 UK tour, this saw her playing at iconic venues across the country such as the O2 Academy Brixton. She also joined popular indie band Blossoms on the bill at Liverpool’s pilot gig at Sefton Park, the first “new normal” gig since the pandemic began, and has since opened for the band when they performed alongside pop legend Rick Astley at the Albert Hall. Katie has also opened for Jo Whiley’s 90s anthems in 2019 and iconic SKA band Madness in Dubai and South Africa 2020. Also travelling across Europe to DJ, she has played clubs in Sweden and Greece.
2022 is already shaping up to be an exciting year for Katie. Set to appear on Welsh show ‘Iaith ar Daith’ produced by Boom Cymru, she will join Huw Stephens on a road trip around Wales which will air on S4C. She’ll also be DJing at Snowbombing Festival in Austria.
Katie has packed out tents at many legendary music festivals such as Isle Of Wight, Y Not, Neighbourhood, Tramlines and more. After securing herself as a well-known face on the festival circuit, Katie was asked to host the Main Stage at Leeds Festival in 2021.
She is also a lifelong football fan, and has hyped up the crowd as DJ and host for the Wales fixtures during the Euros, and hosted a podcast special combining sport and music for BBC Wales.
She conducted filmed interviews backstage at Isle Of Wight, The Great Escape and Y Not festivals in 2019 for brands Mophie and Scotts. Interviewing the likes of Stereophonics front man Kelly Jones, YungBlud, Miles Kane and more.
Katie can be heard on air for her weekly residency on Boogaloo Radio, where she presents alongside the likes of Alan McGee and Carl Barat.
For Christmas 2019, Katie was selected out of thousands for a competition to present on Radio 1 over Christmas where she covered Jack Saunders Indie Show.
Katie also works with Musicians Against Homelessness and Teenage Cancer Trust.
