Ayrshire born and Scottish resident, Lindsey is the proprietor of Don’t Stress the Dress.
Set up in 2018, the business was an instant success and despite an enforced hiatus in 2020, 2021 is already looking to be her busiest year.
A unique service offering brides the full bridal experience – dressing brides on the day of their wedding when it matters and is needed most, so they look and feel their absolute best. She co-ordinates the morning ensuring everything runs smoothly for the bride, on time and stress free. And above all, making sure nothing goes wrong with the dress. From bridesmaids getting strawberry juice on their dress just as they are about to talk down the aisle or a last minute size alteration, Lindsey fixes it.
She has worked at some of Scotland’s most prestigious and exclusive venues including Carlowrie Castle, Culzean Castle, Rowallan Castle, Dalhousie Castle and Glenapp Castle.
Lindsey moved to London at the early age of 16 to attend performing arts college. After graduating she appeared in various shows including Dancing Queen, Spirit of Christmas and as a dancer on Princess Cruise Lines. It was on board this cruise that saw Lindsey given the role of performance manager, overseeing cast and costume maintenance. The skills she learned from keeping the crews’ costume clean and in prisitine condition enabled her to take her new talent out of the dance world and into the bridal world.
In 2017 Lindsey took a break from cruises to attend and help plan her sister’s wedding. During the bridal alteration appointments the owner found her attention to detail and organisational skills unique. She assisted in a bridal salon, helping with alterations, advising brides on dresses and above all, showing a huge passion for wedding dresses.
This experience led her to set up Don’t Stress The Dress. As well as bridal fashion, Lindsey enjoys running, Thai food and red wines. She is also very adept at removing red wine from a wedding dress.
