Spencer Matthews founded CleanCo, a low-alcohol alternative to your favourite drinks, back in 2019. With stockists across the country – from Sainsbury’s to Marks and Spencer – the company launched with Clean G and has since expanded to include Clean R, flavoured Clean G Editions, and even canned ready-to-drink cocktails. CleanCo create the most authentic products in this exciting new low-alcohol category.
Currently co-presenting with friend Jamie Laing in BBC Sounds’ “6 Degrees with Jamie and Spencer”, Spencer Matthews is also a familiar voice in the podcast world. He also presents popular podcast, “Spencer & Vogue” alongside his wife, which hit top 3 in Global’s chart with a 42% week on week increase in listeners in its second series.
Spencer Matthews began his TV career on “Made in Chelsea”. He has won “The Jump” on Channel 4, starred with his friend Jamie Laing in Channel 4’s “Hunted” as part of the network’s Stand Up to Cancer programming and finished a runner up on the most recent series of the BBC’s “Celebrity Masterchef”. Spencer’s last TV project was alongside wife, Vogue in the E4 series “Spencer, Vogue and Baby Too”.
After his education at Eton and the University of Southern California (USC), Spencer worked in the city for several years, primarily as a forward foreign exchange broker at ICAP – a job he kept whilst also filming the first series of “Made in Chelsea” before deciding to move into entertainment full time.
Spencer is a director of The Michael Matthews Foundation, a charity set up by the family in memory of his brother Michael who sadly passed away at the young age of 22. Currently, around 4000 children are being educated at schools supported by MMF. The Charity’s focus is to provide an education to those whom without help would be unlikely to receive one at all. MMF also focuses on the construction of durable school buildings, and in particular dormitories for girls – tangible assets which deliver lasting benefits. Spencer has visited Tanzania several times in the last few years to assist in any way possible and will continue to do so.
He is also passionate about sport – playing rugby for Eton and the University of Southern California in the states. Spencer has completed 4 marathons and enjoys anything dangerous. He has an accelerated free-fall skydiving license – completing over 30 jumps without ever having done a tandem and is generally up for any challenge.
