    Maia Beth

Maia Beth is a BBC Radio 1 presenter, live host, DJ and professional wrestling broadcaster from Washington, Tyne and Wear.

Maia hosts BBC Radio 1 Happy every Saturday and regularly covers for Mollie King on Radio 1’s Future Pop. A trusted voice in new music, she has hosted artist events for Universal Music with Zayn Malik, Fletcher, Bastille and Conan Gray, and interviewed names including Sigrid, Rina Sawayama, Jodie Harsh, Tom Grennan, Mimi Webb and Sekou.

She also works with BBC Introducing, presenting new music coverage from some of the UK’s biggest festivals, including Glastonbury and Reading & Leeds, and was the digital host of the Mercury Prize in Newcastle.

Alongside music, Maia is building a distinctive reputation in professional wrestling. She works as a backstage reporter and interviewer for leading British independent wrestling promotions PROGRESS Wrestling, Pro-Wrestling: EVE and Riot Cabaret, as well as working across Revolution Pro Wrestling (RevPro) and NORTH Wrestling.

Maia has interviewed wrestlers from WWE, All Elite Wrestling (AEW), Ring of Honor, New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling (TJPW) and across the British independent wrestling scene. Her experience also extends beyond backstage reporting: she has worked as a ring announcer, performed in-ring segments and trained in wrestling fundamentals, including safely taking moves and bumps when required as part of a storyline. This combination of broadcasting experience, genuine wrestling knowledge and live performance ability makes Maia an exciting emerging voice across wrestling, sport and entertainment.

Maia is also a host of the Gladiators Live Tour, commanding major UK arenas including The O2, OVO Arena Wembley and Glasgow’s OVO Hydro. Her warmth, energy and quick reactions make her a natural live host, equally comfortable engaging a large family audience, interviewing performers or handling unpredictable live action.

As a DJ, Maia specialises in high-energy disco and house sets. She has played festivals including Glastonbury, All Points East and Y Not, venues such as KOKO, Ministry of Sound, Brixton Jamm, Lío London and Effra Social, and major events including the Universal Music BRITs Party and BAFTA Games Awards after-party. Her corporate clients include ASOS, England Rugby, the University of Greenwich and Big Mamma restaurants.

Before moving in front of the microphone, Maia worked as a BBC radio producer across programmes including Woman’s Hour, Money Box and Newscast. That editorial background, combined with her interests in documentary-making and current affairs, gives her a strong understanding of storytelling and the ability to handle both entertainment and more substantive subjects.

Maia’s growing social platforms reflect her interests across music, wrestling, entertainment and live events. She has created content and collaborated with brands including Adidas, ABBA Voyage and LNER, bringing an upbeat, informed and highly engaging style to every partnership.
