Nikita Kanda is a British South Asian television and radio presenter, live-event host and former Strictly Come Dancing contestant. She presents BBC Asian Network’s flagship Breakfast Show from Birmingham, bringing warmth, humour and a strong cultural perspective to a highly engaged and loyal community.
A natural and experienced interviewer, Nikita has spoken to leading names including Sandra Oh, Simone Ashley, Charithra Chandran, Awkwafina, Ed Sheeran and Nick Jonas. Her television work includes reporting for BBC One’s The One Show, reading CBeebies Bedtime Story and competing in the 21st series of BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing. Nikita is a passionate advocate for women’s safety and became an ambassador for the domestic-abuse charity Refuge in 2024. She uses her platform to champion women’s voices and discuss issues affecting women and South Asian communities with honesty and empathy.
Before beginning her broadcasting career, Nikita studied film and screen media at university specialising in special effects make up. Her genuine knowledge of make-up, skincare and beauty, combined with her broadcasting experience and trusted relationship with her audience, makes her particularly well suited to beauty, fashion, wellness and lifestyle partnerships.
