Matt Edmondson is a broadcaster, author, creator and DJ.
Matt joined BBC Radio 1 in 2011 and has hosted a variety of shows for the network. He and his real-life best pal, Mollie King, currently host weekday afternoons Monday to Thursday 1-3.30pm.
His TV presenting roles have been many and varied including The Apprentice: Meet the Candidates (BBC2), Children in Need (BBC1), The Xtra Factor, Release the Hounds, Fake Reaction (all for ITV2) and T4 (Channel 4). Alongside Mollie he hosted the rebooted UK version of Beauty And The Geek for Discovery+.
He is the host of the recently launched podcast Spent that lifts the lid on celebrities receipts and has previously teamed up with author, Adam Kay, to present the podcast A List of Absolutely Everything That Might Kill You.
Matt released his first song, Your Car, in 2020 with vocals performed by Aymee Weir. Leaning into his newly found love of music production, his podcast, Not Another Love Song, saw him collaborate with pop artists to create an album with song subjects as diverse and surreal as Hay Fever to Dishwashers.
Matt has devised numerous bestselling board games including Obama Llama, Karen, Ansagrams, Egg Slam, Noggin, Toodles and Rainbow Rage.
He is also in demand for brand work, corporate hosting and commercial DJ sets. Matt creates innovative brand content, even writing an original song, The Drop, and producing a fully AI-generated advert and music video to accompany the track for a social-first campaign with Bloo. Matt has also collaborated with beloved household and family brands, including Liptons Ice Tea and Bluey.
His television production company (Accidentally on Purpose) has co-produced shows for BBC1, Channel 4, ITV2 and Comedy Central.
Inspired by his own passion for magic, in 2017 Macmillan published Matt’s first book for children The Greatest Magician in the World.
